President FDT?

Former TN Senator Fred Dalton Thompson is feeling pressure to run for President. I've always liked the guy, not least for portraying the staunchest and simultaneously most sympathetic conservative on prime-time television in the past twenty years as D. A. Branch on Law and Order. I'd have to know more about his policies, but he's a more attractive candidate to me right now than any of the purported front-runners. Tip o' the cap to Instapundit.

I'd like to see Mr Newt get in, but would LOVE to see Thompson. Conservative, no skeletons in the closet, articulate (and clean). Run, Fred Run:)

Me too, on Thompson. Not too crazy about Newt.

It's nice to learn about candidates to watch for in forums like these. I'll make sure I keep an eye out for Mr. Law & Order. I suppose I should start by watching the show...?

Mom, (you introduced yourself as "mom" on my weblog...now it's too late to go back! - sorry FzxGk) what is it that you don't like about Newt? As yet, I've established my opinion of him only by watching two or three speeches of his recently. I'd like to hear yours.
